Kalahandi Cup to be conducted in new format

Odisha Cricket Association today announced to conduct the Kalahandi Cup Senior Inter-District Tournament in a new format at different grounds here from February 13 to April 6. The prestigious tournament will feature a total of 37 teams. Teams will first play two-day league matches after being divided into six groups.

There will be six teams each in five groups and seven in the remaining one (Group C-II). Top four finishers from Group-A, top three from Group-B and top one from Group-C will be eligible to play quarterfinals.

The third top team in Group-B will be decided after a match between second top teams of Group B-I and B-II. Similarly the lone quarterfinalist from Group-C will be determined after a match between top teams of Group C-I and C-II.

Three-day quarterfinal matches will take place from March 26 to 28. These will be followed by three-day semifinals from March 30 to April 1 and the four-day final from April 3 to 6.
